Global Balanced Investment Fund
SMIF invests across asset classes and geographies, bringing diversification, agility, and breadth to the fund. At the beginning of each semester, students allocate across equities, fixed income, real estate, commodities, and exotic alternatives to beat the benchmark and deliver alpha to Fordham University’s endowment.
SMIF’s Fall 2023 allocation (8/30/2023) was the following, with the relative benchmark (italicized in parentheses):
Equities: 60%, (50%)
Fixed Income: 28%, (40%)
Commodities: 7%, (6%)
Real Estate: 2%, (4%)
Options and Exotics: 3%, (0%)
